Deconstruction Project
This project dissects the Nike Precision 6 to understand how performance-driven footwear is built for cost efficiency at scale. Each component was physically separated, analyzed, and documented to reveal hidden layers of material logic—from molded heel counters to nonwoven strobel boards. The project culminates in a sustainable redesign proposal, replacing key components with recycled and bio-based alternatives, and reimagining the colorway through Nike’s ColorDry-compatible, low-waste dye strategies. Rooted in both curiosity and critical analysis, this teardown bridges material literacy with real-world design constraints.
